Covered Areas

To be an intuitive environment, the interface has to reflect the thoughts of synthetic organic chemists. Basically, they are involved in the following major activities:

1) Screen the literature, filter information and generate ideas
2) Locate/order the necessary chemicals or solvents
3) Set up and monitor the reaction
4) Work-up and purify the desired compound
5) Confirm the structure by analytical techniques
6) Write down experiments in notebooks, reports and articles
7) Communicate with colleagues about their results or activities.

Organic Chemistry Resources Worldwide provides useful resources to optimize these activities. Other topics of interest include job searches and why not, brain relaxation. No intention is made to cover areas that are too specialized (e.g. fullerene database) or that are of non-synthetic origin (e.g. biological activities).
