This spare time project (a volunteer work after work hours) started in February 1996 at the Laboratory of Organic Synthesis Hoornaert, Belgium. In August 1996, the website moved to Georgia State University, Atlanta, USA where it was regularly updated untill October 1997, when the author left the university for an industrial position. The site was not updated for about three years. However, after a thorough review, "Organic Chemistry Resources Worldwide" was placed in May 2001 on a new server at a new address (http://www.organicworldwide.net).
