Postdoctoral Position(s) with Prof. Kenneth Laali at University of North Florida, USA

Applications are invited from dynamic/productive PhD scientists for two postdoctoral appointments in the Laali laboratory (Prof. Laali has recently moved from Kent State University to the University of North Florida as the first Chair of a new Chemistry Department). This move created two postdoctoral appointments in Florida. Preferred starting period for the first position is Jan-March 2010, with the 2nd position starting approximately four to six months later. Each position is tenable for one year [12 months salary, depending on experience and past accomplishments, in expected to be in the $27,000.0 to $29,000.0 range]. It is hoped that the two positions can complement/enhance each other, with one focusing more strongly on the physical organic/mechanistic/computational chemistry aspects while the other focusing more intensely on the synthetic organic/bio-organic aspects. The postdoctoral fellows will have the opportunity to supervise the research of undergraduate students. A Varian 500 MHz NMR instrument with several probes is available.
