The Chemcial Separations Group of the Chemical Sciences Division at Oak Ridge National Laboratory invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship in organic synthetic chemistry. The candidate will work with a multidisciplinary team (http://www.ornl.gov/sci/csd/Research_areas/cs_staff.html) that conducts basic and applied research in chemical recognition and separation phenomena. Project will involve planning and executing the multistep synthesis of novel ligands containing fused heterocyclic rings. Contact Dr. Benjamin Hay for further information (haybp@ornl.gov).
Qualifications
A Ph. D. in Organic Chemistry is required. A strong background and demonstrated experience in synthesis and characterization of organic compounds are required. The candidate must be able to work independently and have good oral and written communication skills.
This appointment is offered through the ORNL Postgraduate Research Participation Program and is administered by the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE). The program is open to all those with citizenship in a nonsensitive country.
