-----------------------------------------------------------------

1. Free access to Bentham Science's journals (2000 and 2001)

All of Bentham Science's journals published in the year 2000 and 2001 are now available FREE on-line in full text PDF form in collaboration with INGENTA.  These journals include e.g.  Current Organic Chemistry, Combinatorial Chemistry and High Throughput Screening, Current Medicinal Chemistry.http://www.bentham.org

2. DMI, a new aprotic solvent as an alternative for DMF, DMA or DMSO

DMI (1,3 Dimethyl-2-Imidazolidinone, CAS number 80-73-9) is a colorless, transparent, high polar solvent with high thermal and chemical stability and non-corrosiveness. It has an excellent solubility for inorganic and organic compounds and high dielectric constant. More information about its physicochemical properties, applications and safe handling can be found at http://www.mitsuichemicals.com/dmi.htm

3. Job bank for synthetic organic chemists

Organic chemists are often confronted with the fact that a limited number of job vacancies in their field are spread out over all media (over 30,000 internet job boards, newspapers, magazines, etc. ). The intuitive job site "Organic Chemistry Jobs Worldwide" eases the search for a suitable position in the synthetic organic field. http://organicworldwide.net/jobs/

4. Latest count in CAS databases

What is the most recent CAS registry number? What is the latest count in chemical substance registrations? How many commercially available compounds can be found in CHEMCATS? Visit http://www.cas.org/cgi-bin/regreport.pl to find out!

5. Organic Synthesis: Volumes 78 and 79 are available

Organic Synthesis compiles independently checked selected procedures and new reactions which permit the advanced research student or professional chemist to prepare research compounds. Volumes 78 and 79, containing 59 new preparations are now available at the website http://www.orgsyn.org/

6. Upcoming organic chemistry meetings (August)

The XIII International Symposium on Organosilicon Chemistry
August 25-30, 2002, Mexico
http://int.com.mx/congreso/

7. ACS Journal Archives: 100% of all content now available.

The ACS journal archive offers immediate access to more than 11,000 ACS journal issues, 500,000 articles, 2.5 million pages of original chemistry. In addition, full text searching is possible of all titles and all years (from 1879 to current ACS Web Editions) http://pubs.acs.org/archives/

8. Organic & Biomolecular Chemistry

The Royal Society of Chemistry is merging J Chem Soc Perkin Transactions 1 and J Chem Soc Perkin Transactions 2 to form Organic & Biomolecular Chemistry. The first issue of the new journal will be published in January 2003. Organic & Biomolecular Chemistry will bring together molecular design, synthesis, structure, function and reactivity in one journal. It will publish fundamental work on synthetic and physical organic chemistry and organic chemical biology as well as all organic aspects of: medicinal chemistry; natural product chemistry; supramolecular chemistry; macromolecular chemistry; theoretical chemistry; and catalysis. 10. RDT's new Carousel 6 Place Reaction Station provides fast, efficient parallel synthesis

The new Carousel 6 Place Reaction Station is a simple, convenient way for chemists to increase the productivity of their chemistry for larger scale synthesis, including process development and the synthesis of intermediates and building blocks. This practical yet innovative synthesiser combines the proven technology of the popular 12 place Carousel with familiar 250 ml flasks and formats. Easy to set up with minimum training time, it provides six heated and stirred positions on a standard hotplate stirrer making it a cost-effective addition to any chemistry lab. The Carousel 6 Place Unit is completely maintenance free, with no moving parts requiring repairs or servicing. Radleys Discovery Technologies at http://www.radleys.com/
