-----------------------------------------------------------------

1. Directory of Custom Synthesis Companies

A directory of custom synthesis companies (including five keywords) for the synthesis of screening compounds or research chemicals on a 1 mg - 1 kg scale.

http://www.organicworldwide.net/customsynthesis.html

2. Combinatorial Chemistry ICCSP lectures

A series of lectures that deal with the theory and practice of combinatorial chemistry techniques are available to download free of charge. They are presented by experienced researchers in the field who apply the techniques to their drug discovery projects within the pharmaceutical industry.

3. Chemical & Engineering News, Safety Letters

An index of the chemical safety letters that have appeared in C&EN since 1993

http://pubs.acs.org/cen/safety/index.html

4. World's most cited chemistry paper in November

"Recent Advances in Catalytic Enantioselective Michael Additions" by Prof. Dr. Norbert Krause's (Synthesis, 171-196, 2001) is now the world's most cited chemistry paper. The article is available free of charge.

5. Molecule of the month (November)

Serotonine, Acetylcholine, Isotretinoin

6. Developing tools and standards in molecular informatics

There are about 50 million accessible chemical substances, 6 million available reagents, 7 million published chemical reactions, 16,000 protein crystal structures and 250,000 ready available small molecule X-ray structures. How to manage this vast amount of data and information?
Focus article of Chemical communications, 2002, issue 23 (free of charge) http://xlink.rsc.org/?DOI=b207793k

7. MonomerChem's Literature Search Area

A database of combichem publications. http://www.monomerchem.com/cgi-local/2.0/db_search.cgi

8. An overview of the isoquinoline chemistry

Because of their potential importance as pharmaceuticals, the isoquinoline alkaloids and more generally the isoquinoline ring system have generated much interest from synthetic chemists and biochemists. General reactions and the applications of this type of heterocycle are presented.

9. International Spectroscopic Data Bank and Archive project

The largest electronic collections of analytical data represent 1% or less of the known chemical structures. The EUROSPEC project will establish the infrastructure necessary to make a high quality reference spectroscopic database with links to available associated chemical knowledge. Open for submission in 2003.
