1. InChIKey

The new InChIKey is a condensed version of the InChI chemical identifier that will be a fixed 25-characters long. It can be seen as the molecular equivalent of a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), the journal article tracking code and will facilitate web applications.

2. Molecules of the Month (September 2007)

Urushiol: primary component of the irritant oil of poison ivy and poison oak and an extremely active allergen.

Glycerol: alcohol produced as a byproduct during the manufacture of soap and biodiesel.

3. Upcoming Organic Synthesis Conferences (October 2007)

Microwave Assisted Synthesis Conference
October 3 - 4, South San Francisco (CA), USA

Frontiers in CNS and Oncology Medicinal Chemistry - ACS-EFMC 07
October 7 - 9, Sienna, Italy

All details about these conferences and other upcoming conferences can be found at http://www.organicworldwide.net/conferen.html

4. Chemgate

Chemgate is a spectroscopy search engine with 700,000 spectra (NMR, IR and MS) for 500,000 chemicals. It allows a (sub)structure search and access of spectra for a given structure by a single click.
