Pervaporation in Organic Synthesis

[Benefits] [Introduction] [Software] [Expertise Centers]

- Benefits of Pervaporation -

Pervaporation is an energy efficient (low temperatures and pressures) combination of membrane permeation and evaporation and is often an attractive alternative to other separation methods. Its main use in organic synthesis is the removal of water during reaction (equilibrium shift) but other separation applications are possible:
  • Removal of organics from aqueous streams
  • Separation heat sensitive products
  • Dehydration of organic solvents
